WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU MOVE TO ILLINOIS
HISTORY & CULTURE
Illinois is home to the second most popular city in the US, Chicago – also known as “The Second City”. This state was home to three presidents, and is as diverse as it is populous!
CHICAGO COOL
Chicago is home to the Sears Towers, the best hot-dog in America, and the 2017 World Champion Chicago Cubs! Oh, and there's a statue of some guy named Michael Jordan.
CLIMATE
There are essentially two seasons here - summer and winter. Illinois experiences "Lake Effect Snow", a product of colliding fronts and Lake Michigan. Winters are cold and frigid, while summers are hot and sticky.
DRIVERS LICENSE
When it comes to updating your driver’s license, all you need to do is to present your current one along with other documents. You can take care of this at any local DMV.
REAL ESTATE
Illinois homes are listed at an average price of $274,360 with the median sales price at just above $230,000. For more info check out the Illinois Association of Realtors.
